This stunning historic Castle was built by the Ogilvys of Airlie as a fortified house or ‘Fortalice’ in 1560. The owners have lovingly restored the castle back to its former glory where all 21st century creature comforts have been added whilst retaining complete authenticity with the castles original history. Located in the heart of Scotland inside the magnificent Cairngorm National Park, many guests enjoy wonderful action packed activities such as long beautiful walks, stunning golf courses, horse riding, fishing, stalking, biking, trail running and skiing together with a Scottish sporting experience which includes archery, air rifles, axe throwing and cross bows. For the less active, shopping, fine dining and whisky tasting are amongst the most popular alternatives. If you do not want to leave the comfort of the castle inside is perfect for board games, watching your favourite film or reading in the Great Hall by the enormous log fire.
Sleeps 12 however this can be increased to 16 making use of the cosy Garret that provides four extra single beds. It is a perfect hideaway at the top of the castle especially loved by the younger visitors!
